Four By Three

Early in the summer I got talking to Clay Porter about a new project he had in the pipeline with Red Bull Media House and the Athertons. It would be a follow up to the previous three seasons of “The Atherton Project” only with a slightly different spin, there would only be four episodes, unlike the Atherton Project which was twelve. This allowed Clay a lot more creative freedom and a lot more time and effort could be put into each episode. Each installment would concentrate on just one of the siblings at a pre selected event somewhere in the World.

It all began at the Fort William World Cup in June with Rachel’s film. Rachel’s home race and one she has struggled with since she began racing World Cups. Dan’s film concentrated on his new venture into Enduro racing and for his episode was at the infamous Megavalanche in France. The Red Bull Rampage in Utah is an event that Gee loves taking part in and was to be the location for his episode. Each of these episodes gives a completely unseen view of what makes these athletes tick and strive to be the best they can be. This can be seen again in the final episode which was filmed at Revolution Bike Park in early December near their home in Wales.
