WON’T BACK DOWN: The Steve Peat Story

Since I took on this project at the beginning of 2009, I had no idea what I was letting myself in for. I am only realizing now how important this story is to not only myself, Steve and Clay, but to the cycling community itself. Steve has been there right from the start of mountain biking in the UK and has seen every generation come and go over the last twenty one years. He has somehow managed to stay at the top of his game throughout his career to overcome injuries, crashes, adversity, losing friends and the changing of the guard on countless occasions. He is not only an inspiration to every mountain biker on the planet, but to any person that wants to take a life lesson on how to be an amazing person with a great outlook on life.

It has been an honour to work on this project with Steve and I truly feel like I am part of something bigger than telling Steve’s story, I am telling the story of a piece of history that has never been told before. This would not have been possible without the help of Steve himself and all of his family and friends who got on board with this project from the word go, not to mention all of those who contributed their time, effort, old photos and archive footage to the project. It would not have been possible without this contribution, so I want to say a massive thank you to each and every one of you

I have been a fan of Steve’s for nearly twenty years, and have become great friends with him over the past ten years. It is my absolute privilege to present to you, “Won’t Back Down: The Steve Peat Story”
